Concurrent high school students must be eligible to satisfy the high school curricular requirements for college no later than the spring of their senior year. A high school student may enroll in a combined number of high school and college courses per semester, not to exceed a seven (7) class period schedule. For purposes of calculating workload, one-half high school credit course shall be equivalent to three semester credit hours of college work. A high school student must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission:

• an unweighted 3.0的绩点
• a 19 composite ACT score (National or Residual ACT, including “superscore” as calculated by ACT, and pre-ACT acceptable)
• a 990 total SAT or PSAT score

Concurrent students who are receiving instruction at home or from an unaccredited high school must have completed enough coursework to be equivalent to an individual classified as a junior or senior at an accredited high school.

• High School Seniors: Qualified Oklahoma high school seniors are eligible for a tuition waiver for up to 18 credit hours total, including the summer term after their junior year, as well as the fall and spring semesters of their senior year.
• High School Juniors: Qualified Oklahoma high school juniors are eligible for a tuition waiver for their first nine (9) credit hours, during the summer before or fall or spring semesters of their junior year.
• Students are responsible for fees, books and other supplies required for a specific course.

All concurrent students are required to meet with an EOSC academic adviser each semester before the student may enroll in classes. Concurrent High School Students must submit the following credentials to EOSC for full-admission prior to enrollment:

1. 完成 EOSC Application for Admission
2. Official High School Transcript
3. Acceptable Admission Exam (if applicable)
4. Concurrent 招生 Form (submitted new each semester)
5. Current High School 课程表 (submitted new each semester)
6. Immunization 记录 (visit our Getting Started webpage to learn more)
7. Permission to Disclose 记录 Form (可选)
8. Concurrent Course Overload Request Form (if applicable)

Option #1 Automatic Placement

To register in a credit-bearing course, the student must have

• a 19 ACT / pre-ACT sub-score or a 501 SAT / PSAT sub-score or a passing Accuplacer score in the area of enrollment AND
• meet the Admission Criteria

Option #2: Specific Subject Placement

To register for a course that is NOT 数学 or English or Science (such as History, 心理学, 演讲, 人文学科, 等.), the student must

• Have an unweighted GPA of 3.0

To register for a credit bearing 数学 course, the student must:

• have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, AND
• have completed three Math classes, one of which being Algebra II, with grades of B or better

To register for an English Comp I course, the student must:

• have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0,
• have completed three years of English, with grades of B or better

To register for a Science course, the student must:

• satisfy both 数学 and English Subject Placements AND
• meet any potential prerequisites.

Are concurrent classes free?

No. Concurrent students are awarded a tuition waiver. High School Juniors receive a waiver for 9 hours and High School Seniors receive a waiver for 18 hours per year. Students are required to pay for the fees incurred for each class. You may also be required to purchase a textbook (paper or electronic) and/or a digital access code for each course.

Can concurrent students take Remedial or zero-level Courses?

No. If a student’s subject ACT score or placement test score is below the required cut score to take a college level course, they are not permitted to take the remedial course until they have graduated high school. 例如, if a student would like to take Freshman Composition I, they must have a score of 19 or higher on the English subject ACT or the required Writing score on the Accuplacer in order to take an English course.

Are Concurrent courses transferable?

是的. During your enrollment appointment, please inform the academic advisor of your intended major and the institution you wish to attend after high school. You and the advisor can work together to choose which courses work best for your major.

How many credit hours can I take concurrently?

Students generally take between 3 and 9 credit hours a semester. The number of hours a concurrent student can take is determined by the high school counselor or principal. The Oklahoma State Regents of Higher 教育 limits the number of combined credit hours a concurrent student can take between their high school and college courses.

I received a high school schedule that includes a college class. Am I enrolled in that class?

No. You are not enrolled in concurrent courses until you communicate your wish to enroll with an EOSC Academic Advisor.

How can I get a copy of my college transcript?

Current students can view/print unofficial college transcripts through their 自助服务 账户. Students can request official transcripts through the 注册商's Office.

How do I access my Eastern email, Blackboard and 自助服务?

You will be expected to check your Eastern email regularly to stay up to date on what's going on at the college. You will also use Blackboard, Eastern's learning management system for most of your classes. 自助服务 is your access to enrollment, transcripts, billing, financial 援助, 等. 参观 Online Support Tools webpage to learn how to access each of these systems.
